Member Groups > Stevenage Locomotive Society
The Stevenage Locomotive Society was formed in 1959, by a group of enthusiasts who used to meet by the side of the East Coast Main Line at Six Hills Way bridge, Stevenage. Since then more than 1000 local railway enthusiasts have enjoyed SLS meetings and visits.
One of the earliest members is eminent local railway photographer David Percival of Knebworth whose membership (and splendid photography) continues today.
There is a wide range of interest amongst the membership, including Photography (both digital and traditional forms), Charter Trains (steam, diesel or modern traction),
Inter City or Suburban Passenger, Freight Operations, Preservation, Railwayana, Signalling, Timetabling, Video etc. There are also European & International interests.
Whatever your interest it is likely that you will find someone to share it with!
